Dagmar Schalliol, Ph.D.
Director of Volunteer Programs
Dagmar has a Ph.D. in German language and literature and taught undergraduate and graduate courses for some 20+ years at various colleges and universities in the US. When she moved to the Chicago area, she accepted the position of marketing and sales manager for the North American market with a German textbook company. She managed all aspects of the business in the US for 12 years including marketing and sales negotiations, editing, and training faculty and teachers.
Dagmar has been involved with social issues via SURJ (Showing Up for Racial Justice), has participated in trainings and actions regarding race relations, criminal justice reform, homelessness and fair housing, transgender rights, and police accountability. She has been an online moderator for DBSA (Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance) and has participated in NAMI workshops. She is a passionate researcher and advocate who believes in giving everyone a voice, and – most importantly – in listening to all voices.
