Melissa Renzi (MSW, LSW, CYT-200) is a licensed social worker, 200-hour certified yoga teacher, and the founder of EarthFoodYoga, a company that weaves together yoga, nourishing food, and outdoor experiences to guide others toward self-care.
Melissa grew up in Oak Park, IL. She holds a BA in Social Welfare and Master of Social Work at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has worked as a Bilingual Psychotherapist, Case Manager with homeless families, Family Finding Specialist for children in foster care, and Care Coordinator for adults with disabilities.
She began her yogic path in 1998 by way of her mother and became a certified yoga instructor in 2015 after finding it to be a powerful tool in managing her own loss and anxiety. She has studied therapeutic yoga and has completed a Yoga to Transform Trauma certification. Melissa weaves together meditation, breath work, and gentle movement in a way that meets her students where they are. She encourages them to listen to their bodies and grow a curious mind to manage life’s challenges, heal trauma, and embody the highest expression of themselves.
Melissa loves cooking, traveling, and anything outdoors. She has lived in India, Guatemala, Ecuador, and Mexico. When she is not traveling, she is “inner trekking”.
